Hey, I’m Trevor

I believe that great design is about more than just making pretty pictures.

Exceptional design means problem solving with a user-first mindset. To accomplish this, I’m constantly on a curiosity bender.

Me, exhausted and excited, after our team won A 24-Hour Hackathon in 2023

I like to win.
I love to learn.

In 4th grade, a teacher called me “Clever Trevor” after I helped her solve a problem with a bit of classroom technology.

Then, the problem-solving bug bit me. Hard. Listening to user problems and crafting solutions is addicting — and now I get paid to do it.

To win, you have to learn the user’s story.

SOFTWARE I LOVE

Where I’ve been

After wrapping up my design degree at Missouri State University in December of 2018, I hopped in to work at H&R Block’s corporate marketing department. I started as a “traditional” design specialist, making postcards, billboards, social media graphics, etc.

In time, I caught a curious spark for User Experience and Motion Design. In early 2022, H&R Block’s client experience organization invited me over — I said yes!

Since then, I’ve worked on UX projects big and small across all three of the H&R Block brands: H&R Block, Spruce, and Block Advisors.

My M.O. had always been going bold, challenging the standard operation. On my journey along the User Experience space, I have anchored my design philosophy with a customer-first behavior.

Where I’m going

Everyone should have access to well-designed products and services, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. I am committed to learning more about inclusive design principles and practices so that I can create accessible and enjoyable experiences for all.

Research is the foundation of user-centric design. I’ll continue to develop understanding of analyzing data and gaining insights into user needs and behaviors.

Things I love

My family

After a days work, I just wanna hang out with my wife and cat.

Serving in our community and church is our jam. Hanging out with friends gets me by.
